Steps to apply for a new Ration Card Online

  • Firstly, open the official website of the UP Government. The link to it is given at the end of the page.
  • The home page will open. You will be able to see a task bar. On that click on ‘Download Form’ option.
  • A new page will open. There will be three options – 
  1. प्रवासी श्रमिकों हेतु राशन कार्ड आवेदन प्रपत्र
  2. राशन कार्ड आवेदन प्रपत्र ( ग्रामीण क्षेत्र हेतु )
  3. राशन कार्ड आवेदन प्रपत्र ( नगरीय क्षेत्र हेतु )
  • Click on the appropriate option.
  • Now, a document will open on your screen.
  • You are supposed to take a print out of the document and fill it up.
  • After filling the application form, submit it to the district food supply office in your area.

Documents required for UP Ration Card 

The person who wants to apply for a ration card will need the following documents.

  • Aadhaar Card of all the family members
  • Passport size photo of all family members
  • PAN Card
  • Bank Passbook
  • Voter ID
  • Mobile Number which is in use
  • Certificate of family’s caste
  • Proof of address
  • Gas Connection details

Who is not eligible to apply for a ration card?

The following people will not be given a ration card.

  • People who pay income tax
  • Family which owns more than 5 acres of irrigated land in Sonbhadra
  • Family whose income is more than 2 lakhs per year
  • Family which owns a four wheeler or air conditioner or a generator (5KVA)
  • Family which owns 7 and ½ acres land in Bundelkhand
  • Families whose members have a weapon license.
