Major seasons of rice growing in the Maharashtra.

 

1.  In Maharashtra state, rice crop is predominantly cultivated under rainfed conditions, i.e. Kharif. In Marathwada region area under rice comprises 90,000 ha which is completely drill and rainfed cultivation.

2.  In the Konkan region rice is grown in rabi-summer season on a meagre area i.e. 16,000 ha which comes under Rajnala & Kal project of Raigad district.
