Host plant resistance for Rice thrips  

  • Several resistant sources to thrips have been identified though no commercial variety is available
  • Among the rice varieties are IR62, IET1444, and traditional varieties Ptb 21 and Ptb 33 from India.  
  • Wild rices such as Oryza eichingeri, O. glaberrima, O. minuta, O. nivara, O. officinalis, O. perennis, O. rufipogon, and O. sativa f. spontanea also exhibit resistance to thrips.
