Rice Leaf

1.    The mature leaf has four main parts: the sheath, blade, ligule, and auricles. The leaf varies in length, form,  tightness, and covers the stem.
2.    These mature leaves are flat and vary in length and width according to variety and cultivation practices.
3.    The collar is the junction of sheath and blade. The swollen zone at the sheath base where it joins the culm is the pulvinus.

Suitable Season for Hybrid Rice Cultivation

1. Rice hybrids can be grown both in kharif as well as rabi seasons.
2. The long duration hybrids should not be cultivated during rabi season and even for medium duration hybrids.
3. Care should be taken to see that plantings are not delayed, otherwise the flowering may coincide with high temperatures in April/May, thus adversely affecting yields.
